Welcome to the Fall 2023 issue of Voices & Visions. The theme entitled “Thresholds” guides the work we are thrilled to share in this issue. Our new editorial board decided on a theme that could encourage writers and artists to consider moments and conceptions of change. We became interested in thresholds, where one may momentarily stand and look back or forward on the brink of change, as well as where one may stay a while, or leap completely over. We wondered about the power of thresholds and the way we each interact with them. The featured work in this issue showcases a wonderful range of interpretations of “Thresholds,” including those exploring identity, family, passing and paused time, physical space, and more.
We are so grateful to the writers and artists who share their work and are the foundation of Voices & Visions.
