Welcome

In her poem “Phenomenal Woman,” Maya Angelou writes:
“It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.”

Voices & Visions publishes the visual and written works of phenomenal women. Our featured authors and artists attend women’s colleges, universities, and high schools around the world. We present a nexus of subjectivity and commonality, discovering connection through difference while delving into the diverse experiences of our artists’ lives. The Voices & Visions journal allows “the fire in [women’s] eyes” to become words that pierce and inspire, images that disrupt and excite; together, we illuminate the artistry and capability that is spread throughout our globe.
