Dear Readers,
Welcome to the twelfth issue of Voices and Visions, themed “Rise.” When our staff came together virtually this fall, we felt that “Rise” was a fitting theme for this semester. We imagined some of the topics “Rise” could inspire, among them student activism, resilience, and hope.
When we read our submissions, we were blown away by the creativity and insight of these authors and artists. Our writers and artists connected the theme to rising bread, rising in flight, rising against mistreatment, and many other interpretations. The students published in this issue attend Cottey College, Indraprastha College for Women: University of Delhi, and Smith College.
We are so proud of this issue and the work we have received. We know this has been a difficult time for many, but appreciating the imagination and talent of these students has definitely brightened our semester. We hope that you take the opportunity to rest and reflect on this work so that you, too, have the opportunity to rise.
